Year: 2002
This film is based on the journey of 3 young indigenous girls to their native home after being taken by force from their families.
In Australia, there was a forced homogenization program aimed at breeding indigenous people by force until their bloodline was destroyed. Until 1974, children were stripped from their tribes to be civilized and placed in camps. Walking 1,500 miles, the young girls spurred a nationwide search and made national news.
Key Concepts:
- Evidence of Western interest in weakening or eliminating non “white bloodlines”
- Evidence of state mandated tactics used to achieve this end, across the earth; eugenics.
- Insight into the history of establishing “light” and “white” as “superior.”
